CRIS Radio, Connecticut’s only 501(c)(3) nonprofit radio-reading service brings words to life for people who are blind or unable to read due to other print disabilities. The radio station operates with a small staff and more than 100 volunteers who narrate articles published in newspapers and magazines, museum audio tours, children’s magazines, classroom materials, and children’s books, and Spanish-language publications. CRIS program underwriters enhance their community exposure while improving media access for people who are blind or unable to read due to learning, physical, emotional, intellectual, or physical disabilities.
