Even at CRIS we sometimes think of our service as a reading service for older people who have lost their vision, and really strictly for people who are blind. That’s our history. It’s not who we are today.
That fact was brought to the front today when Myles’ mom called to cancel his subscription because he has passed away. He was 13. Myles had complicated disabilities. When Myles’ mom was asked what he liked to listen to, she said “well, we would play the children’s magazines, and he’d usually roll his eyes.”
Myles, we hope you will continue to remind us of our growing listenership, and if you think we’re coming up short, make some noise. We’ll listen for you.
